Handy Man

Andrew decided the day we moved in to our house that the aweful tract lighting we had was not going to stay. His project of the week... installing pot lights!

I forgot to get a picture with the tract light still up but this is it without the light, before the new ones were added.

The mess that ensued.

And the final product!

Pretend the hole had already been patched.....

He did such a good job and they work wonderfully!

This is the fun my dogs had while we worked on the lights... it used to be a stuffed squirrel. But don't worry, that little stuffed bear came next.

Happy Pioneer Day!

Happy Pioneer Day everyone!
Andrew and I got to spend the day with my parents in Cedar Breaks National Park. We spent the morning hiking and seeing the sights, since Andrew had never been there. We had so much fun and saw some of the most beautiful sights!

Maxi Skirt Creation

My latest creation!  A new maxi skirt!

It was super easy to make, but the instructions for the waistband were pretty confusing. The instructions can be found here. When it says to fold the waistband over, fold it in half inside of itself.... if that makes sense. And then when you sew it on to the body of the skirt, it should be slipped all the way into the skirt, with the raw edges matching. Happy sewing!!

Sugar Coma Here I Come!

Today I made one of the most delightful treats I think I've ever had.

Behold

Dulce de Leche filled Banana Cupcakes with Browned Butter Cream Cheese Frosting.

The name alone is enough to put anyone in a sugar coma. They were also very simple to make! The recipe can be found at this link.
Enjoy!
